TOUR!
MAE

REUNION AND TOUR ANNOUNCED;
GOODBYE, GOODNIGHT TOUR SCHEDULED FOR THIS FALL

In 2007, Mae released their first and only major label album entitled
SINGULARITY. Shortly thereafter, the band announced the departure of
longtime keyboardist, ROB SWEITZER and bassist, MARK PADGETT. After
three full length albums, both critical and fan acclaim, worldwide
touring, and over a half million album sales, the music world breathed
a collective gasp -- as for the first time ever the future of the band
lay in question.

Embattled, the remaining three members, lead vocalist DAVE ELKINS,
guitarist ZACH GEHRING, AND, drummer JACOB MARSHALL soldiered on as
determined as ever with a newfound purpose, new hope, and a new set of
goals. The start of 2009 marked the beginning of the band's "12 SONGS.
12 MONTHS. 1 GOAL. MAKE A DIFFERENCE." campaign and over the course of
the year, the band embarked on a year-long journey to help those less
fortunate and raise awareness about important humanitarian issues.
Giving away all profits from digital downloads on the band's
website--WHATISMAE.COM, the band raised over $65,000 in donations to
fully fund the construction of a home for a family in need in Newport
News, VA in conjunction with Habitat For Humanity and partnered with
DonorsChoose.org to fund educational projects in all 50 states.

Not content with the status quo and unabashedly not afraid of change,
Mae is proud to announce the reunion of the quintet most known for
their seminal releases, DESTINATION: BEAUTIFUL (2003), THE EVERGLOW
(2005), and SINGULARITY (2007). DAVE ELKINS, ZACH GEHRING, JACOB
MARSHALL, ROB SWEITZER and, MARK PADGETT, will reunite for the
"Goodbye, Goodnight Tour" this fall. Says ELKINS about the reunion,
"Life is cyclical and all about the way we cope with change. The MAE
that has been for the last 2 and half years has been quite an
accomplishment on it's own merit, but ever since Rob and Mark's
departure it seemed that every accomplishment was still incomplete.
This reunion is a way for MAE to get back to what we were always meant
to be - Rob, Zach, Jacob, Mark, and myself. Finally, we are back to
what MAE needed most, each other."

The "Goodbye, Goodnight Tour" will kick off in early October and run
through the end of November. The band's first performance together in
over 3 years took place in Singapore on June 19th and while the long
term future of the band beyond this tour is unclear, the "Goodbye,
Goodnight Tour" will mark the band's indefinite farewell. The band
plans to announce openers and tour dates in the weeks to come. Says
SWEITZER "I am looking forward to playing music live with Zach, Jacob,
Mark and Dave again. It did not take long during rehearsals to see that
we have chemistry as a band even after being apart for 3 years. It is
already apparent that there is a renewed energy and enjoyment in
playing live together again." GEHRING adds, "Despite all the change
that we've been through, both personally, and as MAE, the underlying
creative current is still refreshingly strong."

And for the future? Says ELKINS, "The future is as unpredictable as it
has always been. We will take advantage of this tour to express our
gratitude to our fans and enjoy the bond that we've grown and are
growing again among the five of us."

will be going to this Very Happy

New Message by Mae-
Hey everyone,

By now, most of you have heard, but we're happy to officially share
some wonderful news that we have been waiting to tell you for a couple
of months.

2010 has been a year of reflection, reconditioning, and reconsidering
what it has meant to be in this band for the last 8 years. We have come
to some conclusions, we have asked questions that lead us to more
questioning, and we have transformed into a brand new, old, new thing.
In a phrase, what does this mean exactly? It means, "thank you." Thank
you for sharing your world with us as we have done our best to be
honest, creative, and true to ourselves, our calling, and our lifeline
which is you. The exciting news that we have for you is the best news
that we have shared in a very long time. Together, you and Mae have
brought glimpses of hope to the hopeless, food to the hungry, clothing
to the cold and tired. A home has been built for a family in need.
These are all things that we are truly proud of and humbled as we look
back and see what this band has been able to accomplish on this
journey. Yet, through all of these feats, something has lacked along
the way. Now that insufficiency is no more!

We are so pleased to share with you the return of Rob and Mark to Mae!

This has been a long process of searching, renewal, and repair and yet
it is true. The Mae that you grew to love through our records such as
"Destination: Beautiful" and "The Everglow" is back together. We are
also excited to let you know that we will be touring for the first time
in a year and touring for the first time as the 'original five' in over
three years sharing with you an experience we'd like to call, "Goodbye,
Goodnight." This reunion is something that is refreshing all of us in
different, needed ways but it's also a chance for us to say "goodbye"
for a while.

After this tour, we will be hiding away, embarking on new adventures,
trying out life's opportunities as individuals with freedom and
anticipation. In order for us to do this properly, we needed to "dim
the lights" in the rooms of the house you and Mae have built together.
Mae presents: "Goodbye, Goodnight." is exactly our chance to do that.

We would absolutely love to see all of you at a club in your city this
fall for one more night together, one more "rock show." Since this will
be our last run indefinitely, we are making sure to give you the show
you've wanted for some time and the show that we've been eager to
perform. We'll be giving you the opportunity on Maeteam to tell us your
favorite songs from each album so that we may try to play all of those
favorites. There may even be a certain record in our collection that
gets played from start to finish on some nights.

Please, please, please come and join us for "Goodbye, Goodnight" so
that we may thank you for the most incredible eight years we've had
together. Also, bring a warm "welcome back" to Rob and Mark. They have
missed you just as much as you and we have missed them! We will be
announcing a chat on Maeteam in the coming days so we can answer your
questions and tell you what to expect this fall and the months leading
up to the tour.

Thank you from the bottom of our hearts!

Dave, Jacob, Zach, Rob, and Mark

-Mae

i shall be heading out to this

well, tomorrow Mae announce tour dates *(dunno how many, or if even at all tbh) yet there are already events of the goodbye, goodnight tour popping up all over the place:

http://eventful.com/performers/mae-/P0-001-000006987-1/events

here is what mae has had to say about this:
If you don't hear it from us, it's not 100% official.

Also, just some forewarning. We are not announcing all the dates
tomorrow, so you will likely see some gaps of dates that are still
being worked on. If you don't see a show in a town near you, don't
panic just yet!

P.S. If you're reading this, THANK YOU.

Guys - not all of these tour dates are official. In fact, some are
incorrect. We will be posting the dates that are confirmed so far
tomorrow, so hold tight!

electronica on the other

this fall tour will be the last MAE
